New England Dwarf Car Series
Zig Geno Wow’s Wiscasset for first career NEDCS Win!
Wiscasset, ME- The New England Dwarf Car Series presented by Construction Site Machinery in association with Bumpy’s Auto Service and Accelo Racewear took the trip north to Wiscasset Speedway. After a few weeks off the series drivers were excited to get back into action.
Zig Geno in the 57 and Tom Harwood car #29 won the heats races. Zero was the chip drawn for the invert which would leave Geno on the pole for the feature. Geno would be joined by Ryan Carman in the 08 on the front row. Geno and Carman would get single file quickly entering turn 1 and would pull away from the field. While Harwood, Cody Hodgdon (31) and Andrew Harmon (14) worked their way from the back of the pack.
Harwood moved into 3rd on lap 15 but at point would not be able to catch the top 2. Carman tried a few times to get close enough to make the pass for the lead but just waited a little too long. Geno would capture his first career NE Dwarf Car Series win! Carman finished second followed by Harwood, Hodgdon, and Harmon!
With so many story lines to pick from Geno capturing his first career win and his first win without his father after being away from racing for a few years would seem to be the biggest but we can’t help but mentioned Ryan Carman getting his career best finish or the sportsmanship of all the competitors who assisted Joe Acres and his 25x car after a hard wreck in his heat race! So many different drivers and crew members helped that it would be hard to name them all.
The series is back in action this Friday night September 6th at Claremont Motorsports Park as we continue our busiest stretch of the season. For those that can’t make the race checkout RaceDayTV.com!
