New England Dwarf Car Series
Tom Harwood Flys to Victory!
Groveton, NH - The New England Dwarf Car Series Presented by Construction Site Machinery in association of Bumpy’s Auto Service and Accelo Racewear went north to Riverside Speedway and Adventure Park in Groveton, NH for 40 laps of exciting sided by sided action! 22 Dwarf Cars made the trip to do battle.
Unfortunately motor issues ended the day before qualifying for the 25x of Joe Acres and 197 of Mike Henderson. Three heats were on tap for qualifying action with Jason Hodgdon (31H), Brad Sanborn (8) and Brenna Humphrey (3) taking down heat race wins. An eleven car invert saw Ryan Carman (08) and the 1x of Roger Edgecomb on the front row.
Edgecomb led the first 5 laps before Sanborn took the top spot. Caution would fly around lap 17 for the 3 of Humphrey coming to rest in the middle of turn 1 and 2. Sanborn held on the lead on the restart and would continue to lead until caution around lap 33 for the 3NH of Dan Brofman spinning into the infield. Sanborn would have a new dancing partner in the form of “Top Gun” Tom Harwood (29) on the front row for the restart. Sanborn would lead 2 more laps before Harwood made the pass for the lead on lap 36. Jason Hodgdon followed Harwood around Sanborn. Harwood held on to take his second win of the season. Jason Hodgdon finished 2nd, Sanborn in 3rd, “Cridda” Shannon (111) in 4th and Andrew Harmon (14) rounded out the top 5!

Next up on June 8th is the 1st race in the Crusade for the Crown race which is also the series debut at New London Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, CT!
